Today, I’d like to share my top 10 MLM Recruiting Books of all time. First off, I have read these books personally. Furthermore, not every title is specifically about MLM Recruiting, but all of them will help you be a better MLM Recruiter. Make sense?

First Things First

My mentor Mark Yarnell once taught me this:

Every successful network marketer was a lousy network marketer at first.

Simply put, when people first join our industry they suck. They don’t know what they are doing. I could take that advice one step further and say that every successful MLM Recruiter was a lousy MLM Recruiter at first.

Keep this in mind. Recruiting is a learned skill. Very few people enter our industry with this skill already mastered. However, anyone CAN learn and master the art of recruiting if they choose to. If you want to learn how to recruit, you must invest your time, money, and energy to learn everything you can about it. Learn by doing, but also learn from your mentor, from books, by attending workshops and events, and watching helpful videos.

The books you see listed below will give you a huge edge over your competition. You should order every title on this list, devour it, study it, and apply what you learn in your network marketing business.Top 10 MLM Recruiting Books

Top 10 MLM Recruiting Books

It’s quite difficult to put these titles in a certain order, but I’ll do my best.

# 10: How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie

I had to include this all-time classic by Dale Carnegie on my list of the top MLM Recruiting books. Why? Because our business is a people business. You must develop and constantly improve your people skills if you want to sign people up and retain them. You need to become more likable and learn to listen and think from the other person’s point of view. This book will teach you how to do those things.

# 9: Endless Referrals by Bob Burg

Ultimately, network marketing is a business of referrals. We build our network primarily through word of mouth advertising. The mistake that most novices make is they don’t have a written, concrete plan to get more referrals. Instead, they expect referrals to magically appear and when that doesn’t happen they get frustrated and quit. Endless Referrals will help you get more referrals. Bob Burg will give you simple step-by-step instructions you can follow to generate endless referrals!

# 8: Book Yourself Solid by Michael Port

No list would be complete without Michael Port’s popular book Book Yourself Solid. In the book, he details a simple strategy to keep yourself booked, without chasing or begging prospects. This is a must read for anyone who wants to ramp up their recruiting efforts.

# 7: Get Clients Now! by C.J. Hayden

This book is a masterpiece. While it’s designed for professionals seeking to expand their client base, I believe 100% of the information is relevant to network marketers. It helps you come up with a 28-day action plan to create a steady flow of new prospects and customers. If you need a “workbook” to help you develop your daily recruiting plan, this is the book to get.

# 6: Miracle Morning for Network Marketers by Hal Elrod

You might be wondering why I included this title in my list of the top MLM Recruiting Books. I think it’s beneficial because it’s designed to help you create a solid daily routine. This is something most MLM Reps struggle with. Most people in our industry have a day job and do the business part-time. As a result, they often struggle to manage their time effectively, which negatively effects their recruiting. This book will help you create a strong morning routine, so you can achieve success throughout the day.

# 5: The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino

Written by my favorite author of all time, Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World is one of my top MLM Recruiting Books. The book provides a list of affirmations, known as the scrolls. You are taught to read each of these scrolls daily for one month. I’ve followed the plan in his book, and it has totally transformed my business (and life). If selling and closing are a struggle for you, this book will help you.

# 4: How to Master the Art of Selling by Tom Hopkins

Remember this:

Recruiting is selling. And selling is influence. People don’t join businesses. People join people.

Tom Hopkins is one of my favorite sales trainers of all time. He is not a network marketer, but the principles and wisdom he teaches in this best-selling book will benefit EVERY network marketer. This is my favorite “sales training” book in the marketplace. If you’re new to sales and recruiting, or just suck at it, do yourself a favor and order a copy of this book and study it.

# 3: The Referral of a Lifetime by Timothy L. Templeton

This is the one book on this list that most people have never heard of before. I just finished reading it last night. All I can say is WOW!

This book will teach you how to put the relationship first. You will also learn how to have a simple follow-up plan, so people come to you AND give you referrals!

I’m going to re-read this book again. It’s a quick read, told in a story format. The thesis of the book is that everyone knows 250 people who could be a good source of referrals to them. And those 250 people each know 250 people, meaning your network could easily be 62,500 people (250 x 250) if you stayed in touch with people and gave them a reason to give you referrals. Order this book and study it!

# 2: How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling by Frank Bettger

This oldie, but goodie almost took my top spot on my list of the top MLM Recruiting books. I learned about this book during my time in Amway. I’ve read it at least 20 times now and have given away at least 100 copies of it.

Frank Bettger was a professional baseball player and successful insurance salesperson in the first half of the 20th century. He covers the common mistakes most sales reps make, talks about why he failed so long in selling, and caps it off with some of the most simple, effective, and profound advice.

Even though the book is quite old, keep in mind success principles NEVER change. If you want to become a top recruiter, order a copy of this book and read it.

# 1: Go for No! by Richard Fenton

This book right here is solid GOLD. It takes the top spot on my list of the top 10 MLM Recruiting books. Authored by Richard Fenton, the thesis of the book is that the quickest way to get more Yes’s is to get more No’s.

Basically, you should Go for No! Set a goal for the number of No’s you want to receive each day. By doing that, you will by default get some Yes’s as well.

The subtitle of the book is Yes is the Destination, No is How You Get There! I couldn’t say it better myself.

In conclusion, these are the top 10 MLM Recruiting books of all time, as I see it. These books have helped me immensely, and I know they can have the same impact for you.
