Amplifei operates in the nutritional supplement MLM niche. The company is headed up by Founder and CEO Robert Oblon.

On its website Amplifei provides a UPS store address in Indiana.

According to Oblon’s Facebook profile he’s based out of California. I assume this is where Amplifei is actually run from, as opposed to out of a UPS store in Indiana.

Robert Oblon (right) put Amplifei together after falling out with his previous company, Elepreneurs.

Elepreneurs has its roots in Elevacity, a travel booking engine themed MLM Oblon launched on or around 2014.

We’ll go into a bit more detail below, but the following is from Amplifei’s website;

After launching in December 2017, (Elepreneurs) became the fastest growing company in the world for 2018.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances that cannot be shared as of this writing, Robert ended up settling disputes with the companies he created in February of 2020 and decided to create a new company that launched June 1st, 2020.

The new company is called Amplifei International.

In researching what happened prior to publication of our updated September 2020 Eleprneurs review, I came across a quote from long-time MLM industry veteran Troy Dooly;

Robert Oblon was removed from the Board of Directors and stripped of his position of authority as a result of gross financial misconduct.

He voluntarily resigned to avoid punitive legal actions arising from his malfeasance.

In February 2020, Elepreneurs itself accused Oblon of “gross financial misconduct”.

Unfortunately whatever settlement was reached between Oblon and Elepreneurs was never made public.

“Circumstances that cannot be shared” suggests a confidentiality agreement was part of the settlement.

Oblon’s other MLM claim to fame is co-founding WorldVentures, a recently collapsed travel-themed pyramid scheme.

Perhaps tellingly, Oblon’s relationship with WorldVentures also ended in a lawsuit.

Read on for a full review of Amplifei’s MLM opportunity.

Amplifei’s Products

Amplifei do not list any specific products on their website.

Rather than just keep things simple, Robert Oblon has artificially separated Amplfei’s marketed products from the MLM opportunity.

Amplifei’s products are offered through Hapinss Brands.

Note that’s not a spelling mistake. It’s unfortunately the actual name of the company.

As per a July 10th 2020 press-release;

Oblon has secured on behalf of HAPInss Brands the world-wide exclusive to the first of its kind product called BiomeIX, a unique form of tributyrin.

Although HAPInsss’ [sic] flagship product lines center on gut health and healing, HAPInss Brands will be focusing on products and services which provide a well-balanced healthy and happy family lifestyle.

Over the coming months Hapinss Brands expanded their range, granting Amplifei access to more products.

Amplifei International Given Approval to Market HAPInss Brands’ New “Hemplifei” CBD Products

Hemplifei’s CBD products are formulated exclusively for HAPInss customers and only available through an Amplifei VIP.

The title of the quoted press-release is a bit bizarre, seeing as Oblon owns both Amplifei and Hapinss Brands.

To get any actual information on Amplifei’s products you have to head over to a separate Hapinss Brands website.

  • Shut Ei – “a unique blend of all natural ingredients formulated to help you sleep better at night”, retails at $70 for a bottle of 60 capsules

That’s all only information provided.

According to an August 2020 press-release, Amplifei also offered Travopoly memberships.

Travopoly itself is the original travel booking engine WorldVentures launched with.

Oblon repurposed Travopoly for Elevacity. With Amplifei Travopoly has been repurposed and relaunched again.

There’s no mention of Travopoly on either Amplifei or Hapinss Brands’ website.

Whether Travopoly is bundled as “travel benefits” with the $99 premium membership is unclear.

Amplifei’s Compensation Plan

Amplifei do not provide a copy of their compensation plan on their website.

The following compensation breakdown has been put together from official Hapinss Brands documents, sourced from various Amplifei presentations dated January 2021.

Amplifei Affiliate Ranks

There are 37 known affiliate ranks within Amplifei’s compensation plan.

Along with their known qualification criteria, they are as follows:

  • Blue Diamond L3 – not disclosed
  • Pink Diamond – not disclosed
  • Pink Diamond L1 – not disclosed
  • Pink Diamond L2 – not disclosed
  • Pink Diamond L3 – not disclosed
  • Black Diamond – not disclosed

I believe there are ranks higher than Blue Diamond L3, however information on these ranks was not available at time of publication.

QAP stands for Qualified Amplfei Points. I searched high and low for a definition of QAP and came up blank.

I’m assuming QAP is Amplifei renaming Group Volume (GV), which is simply downline generated sales volume.

For Emerald and higher ranks Core 12 qualified status must be maintained. There is no available information as to what Core 12 qualified is.

Commission Qualification

Amplifei affiliates must maintain a 50 PV monthly order to qualify for commissions.

This requirement applies to retail commissions.

Retail Commissions

Amplifei affiliates earn a 25% base commission on sales volume generated by retail sales.

Retail Bonuses

Retail Bonuses offered by Amplifei include the New Customer Bonus, Customer Acquisition Bonus and Monthly Retention Bonus.

Through the New Customer Bonus, an additional 20% can be earned on new customer orders.

The exact New Customer Bonus percentage paid out is based on how many new retail customers an Amplifei affiliate has sold to that month.

  • sell to 1 to 3 new customers in a month and receive a 5% New Customer Bonus
  • sell to 4 to 6 new customers in a month and receive a 10% New Customer Bonus
  • sell to 7 to 10 new customers in a month and receive a 15% New Customer Bonus
  • sell to 11 or more new customers in a month and receive a 20% New Customer Bonus

The Customer Acquisition Bonus rewards affiliates with $20 per three new retail customers they sell products to.

The Monthly Retention Bonus is an undisclosed increase to the base retail commission paid out, tied to how many months a retail customer maintains a monthly order (autoship).

Recruitment Commissions

Amplifei affiliates are paid a commission when they recruit an affiliate who signs up with a pack.

  • recruit a Happy Pack affiliate and receive $100
  • recruit a Happier Pack affiliate and receive $250
  • recruit a Happiest Pack affiliate and receive $400

Residual Commissions

Amplifei pays residual commissions daily based on rank qualification:

  • qualify at Reseller – receive 60 cents a day

  • qualify at Double Diamond L2 and receive $2000 a day
  • qualify at Double Diamond L3 and receive $3000 a day
  • qualify at Blue Diamond and receive $4000 a day

There are higher daily pay tiers than Blue Diamond. Information on these tiers was not available at time of publication.

Matching Bonus

Amplifei pays a 25% Matching Bonus on residual commissions earned by personally recruited affiliates.

X10 Bonus

The X10 Bonus is an autoship bonus, specifically pertaining to Amplifei’s Gut Health Triad bundle.

The Gut Health Triad bundle includes Biome iX ADK, HapiTides, and HapiCaps for $139 a month.

Although available one-time for $210, the X10 Bonus is only paid out on Gut Health Triad autoship acquisition.

An Amplifei affiliate receives a $200 X10 Bonus each month they generate and maintain ten or more active Gut Health Triad autoships orders.

These autoship orders can be held by retail customers or recruited affiliates.

Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus

The Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus is a monthly bonus rewarded to qualifying Pearl and higher ranked affiliates.

  • qualify at Pearl and receive a $200 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus
  • qualify at Sapphire and receive a $500 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus
  • qualify at Sapphire L2 and receive a $1000 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus

  • qualify at Emerald and receive a $4000 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus
  • qualify at Emerald L2 and receive a $5000 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus
  • qualify at Pink Diamond and receive a $10,000 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus
  • qualify at Pink Diamond L2 and receive a $15,000 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus
  • qualify at Black Diamond and receive a $25,000 Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus

I’m assuming in-between ranks are paid the same Lifestyle Global Pool Bonus until the next rank tier is achieved, however this isn’t clarified in the available marketing material.

Founder’s Pool

Amplifei affiliates who spent $1000 when they sign up receive one share in the Founder’s Pool.

Other than it being paid out on a 90 day schedule, details of Amplifei’s Founder’s Pool are not provided to the public.

Joining Amplifei

Amplifei affiliate membership is free, however affiliates are required to maintain a monthly autoship order to qualify for commissions.

The minimum autoship order amount is 50 PV a month.

New Amplifei affiliates can also choose to sign up with various packs:

  • Happy Pack – $250
  • Happier Pack – $500
  • Happiest Pack – $1000

The Happy and Happier Packs come bundled with Amplifei products. They don’t offer any compensation advantage.

The Happiest Pack is bundled with

  • a 7 night vacation for two (marketing material suggests a “Mexico resort vacation”)
  • a one year Travopoly subscription
  • one share in Amplifei’s Founder’s Pool (see compensation plan details above)

Conclusion

BehindMLM first  WorldVentures failing to generate significant retail activity in 2011.

In 2016 we criticized Elavacity for a lack of disclosure and the potential to operate as a pyramid scheme.

Within 24 hours of publishing our review, Robert Oblon responded by asking for “the best way to give you the accurate and relevant information”.

I replied through email or the comments section. Oblon never followed up.

In 2018 we reviewed Elepreneurs, calling out mandatory autoship and a lack of retail focus – which lent itself to pyramid recruitment.

In 2021 here we are again. Robert Oblon is behind yet another company with disclosure issues and mandatory autoship.

Leaving the baggage aside, Amplifei does a terrible job of marketing itself on its website.

There’s literally no products to speak of or compensation information. Instead you get vague “gut-brain axis” marketing and a spiel on how great Oblon is.

As a prospective Amplifei retail customer, I’d be left confused.

And if I’m supposed to be a Hapinss Brands customer, why bother with Amplifei at all?

Complexity for the sake of complexity is not what you want to see in an MLM opportunity. Nor is dishonesty for that matter.

In casting my research net for this review, I came across a marketing interview Oblon did with Troy Dooly.

The interview was uploaded to Dooly’s Facebook profile 12 hours ago, and in it Oblon touches on why he separated Amplifei’s products.

[24:11] It’s still one company, it’s just two brands.

So what we learned years ago … unfortunately in the US, network marketing is taboo.

When you say MLM or multilevel marketing to most people, they say “pyramid” and “Ponzi”.

But what that translates into … we live in a time and day where, if they learn the product is of a network marketing company, they won’t buy it.

They won’t consume it, because there’s been too many Ponzis and pyramids, frankly.

So what we decided to do … is separate the opportunity from the product company and website.

Oblon goes on to explain that when you send customers to Hapinss, they aren’t seeing MLM opportunity or compensation information.

Leaving aside this information isn’t available on Amplifei’s website in any case, I believe if you’re an MLM you need to own it.

When you have affiliate’s marketing your products and earning commission, I don’t see how you can hope to hide the fact that you’re an MLM opportunity.

And Oblon worrying about MLM having the reputation of being full of “Ponzis and pyramids” is somewhat ironic, given Amplifei’s mandatory autoship requirement.

As to Amplifei’s product line, typically we see gut health offered as one product in a range of nutritional supplements.

Amplifei isn’t the first company to build an MLM opportunity around the concept though. In April 2019 BehindMLM reviewed Amare Global, who also market “gut-brain axis” supplements.

Amare Global has been around since 2016. I’m not implying it means anything but I believe they were the first “gut-brain axis” MLM company.

The roadblock with Amplifei’s compensation plan is the mandatory autoship requirement.

This sets Amplifei up as an autoship recruitment opportunity. That is, you sign up as an Amplifei affiliate (preferrably with a pack), get on autoship and then recruit others who do the same.

Based on what compensation information is available, the preferred autoship seems to be Amplifei’s Health Triad bundle.

As per the FTC, focusing on autoship recruitment at the expense of driving retail sales would make Amplifei a pyramid scheme.

This is where your due-diligence into Amplifei should end. Everything else aside, it’s the one red flag that can’t be ignored.

By no means a deal-breaker and more of an annoyance, the other thing I’m not keen on is Oblon’s naming structure.

Hapinss, Amplifei… really?

Amplifei in particular stands out as officially it’s stylized as AmpLIFEi.

Amp-Life-eye? Amp-Life-ee? Ampli-fey? What is this?

Initially I figured Amplifei was “amplify” intentionally misspelt. When I saw the branded capitalization though, I was left unsure till I searched up a video.

Again, complexity for the sake of complexity.

And for those curious, ignore the capitalization. Amplifei is indeed pronounced “amplify”.

Totally a personal opinion though. If you’re into stupidly spelt company names and products that’s cool.

Amplifei’s glaring disclosure and compensation shortfalls? Not so much.
