Our amazing friend Tanya Aliza is one of the most sought-after Online Marketing Coaches in the network marketing industry because she has not only built a 7-figure business online but she’s also actively building a very successful network marketing business. And, what’s more, she’s done this in large part because she’s a master of Attraction Marketing. 

Because, here’s the thing – you don’t want to attract just anybody to your business. You want to attract the right people and simultaneously repel the negative Nancys out there.

That’s why we sat down with Tanya and got down to the nitty-gritty of how you can get your ideal customers to buy from you without resistance in less than 60 min/day!

How to Get Your Ideal Customers to Buy From You Without Resistance in Less Than 60 Min/Day

“Success Leaves Clues”

When Tanya started out her network marketing career, she wasn’t having the big success she thought she would. She was doing everything that online marketing experts advised but a) that wasn’t duplicatable and b) it wasn’t bringing the results she wanted.

Then in 2014, as she was on the elliptical at the gym, Tanya was listening to a podcast called Online Marketing Made Easy, hosted by Amy Porterfield. And she found herself stopping everything that she was doing to download Amy’s freebie*.

*IMP: A freebie is a “value gift” that attracts an ideal audience of perfect buyers.

That’s when Tanya started thinking about it. Why was she paying attention to Amy? And why was she stopping her activities to go and download whatever Amy was offering?

The reason was:

a) it’s free and easy to download
freebieb) it offered value to her and her business.

Success leaves clues. Whatever works for one person can work for you, too! That’s when Tanya decided to employ Amy’s strategy in her own business, focus on one activity for a year, and see what happens. (Hint: that was when Tanya went from making $56,000 one year to making $434,000 the next.)

So the one activity she focused on was as she puts it, “I like the idea of creating one high-value piece of content a week and then using that as a lead generator for me and my business, with a freebie.

She ended up creating a freebie that took her 60 minutes of research and that ended up getting her thousands of leads in the two years she used it.

“Think About the Benefit” 

Tanya quickly learned that when you’re creating a freebie, you need to think about what it is that you’re selling. Think about what it does for somebody. What is the transformation that it gives them?

People don’t care what your thing is, they care about what it does for them.

So what you want is to think about the benefit of what your product does.

The 60/40 Ratio

It’s important to point out that active prospecting is crucial when you’re starting out. Because you have to do it to build your foundation.

So there are two things that you’re working with when you’re a brand new business owner – active prospecting and passive prospecting.

  • Active prospecting means that you go out and start conversations with your people.
  • Passive prospecting is when your people are coming to you and saying, “I want more information”. It’s the promised land.

But you can’t reach that promised land without a little bit of work. So spend 60% of your time working on active prospecting. And then for the other 40% – have a passive plan in place.

Eventually, if you’re consistent enough, in 12 or even 24 months, your passive plan is going to out beat your active one. That means that when you wake up in the morning and you grab your cup of Joe and you open your laptop/smartphone, you’ll see that you got 10 leads while you were sleeping and they will all want to talk to you about your product or service!

“Post Every Day on Social”

Going back to Tanya’s first freebie, once she created it and it started generating leads, people began asking her why she’s not posting it on social.

Here’s the thing. Posting promotional messages on social doesn’t work. Plus, you want to make sure that you’re only attracting the people who are interested in your product.

So start showing up on social media every day. But you’ve got to keep the algorithm happy.

That’s why a smart strategy is to come up with 5 categories (for example, faith, family, furballs at home, kids, softball, etc) and start rotating your posts.

And when you’re posting 7 days a week, in 3 of those days, you can add something along the lines of,

  • “PS, I don’t know if you know, but I have this really cool guide that I put together which can help you with [a problem that it’s solving]. Here’s where you can get it and share it if you know anybody else who would love this.”

Then add a link to your freebie. People would click that link. Then to get it, they would put their name and email and they would be now on your email list. This will do so much for your business!

What a Freebie Does for Your Business

  • A freebie builds you up immediately as a credible authority.

There’s a book called Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini. It talks about the six human triggers that get people to make decisions and take action.

And one of those triggers is authority. The book says that “When people view others as credible authorities, they listen, they pay attention and they will take their recommendations and suggestions seriously.”

  • A freebie invokes the Law of Reciprocity.

When somebody is giving you something, or somebody does something nice for you, you immediately feel like you need to reciprocate back.

It’s the same with your people. They’re thinking, “Oh wow! He/she gave me this incredible free guide. Of course, I’m going to take his/her recommendations and suggestions seriously. I’m listening now because he/she lead with value.”

  • A freebie allows you to segment your audience. 

That’s when you’re only attracting people who are interested in that benefit, who are perfect for your product and service.

For example, if you’re in the weight loss industry, you want to talk to people but you don’t want to offend them. That’s where segmentation comes in.

  • A freebie helps you build an email list.

When someone requests to download your freebie, send them a link where they’ll have to put in their name and email address. That’s how you plug them into your machine.

And this is how you create automation and leverage for your life and the things that you actually enjoy doing.

Tanya has had people on her list for years before they actually bought something. Her motto: Some will, some won’t, let’s follow up!

Timing is everything. But you never want to leave anything slipping through the cracks.

So if you get somebody on your email list, you want to have an email sequence that’s three to four messages.

Tanya’s email sequence goes likes this:

  • Message #1: she talks about all the benefits that her product can provide for them
  • Message #2: she backs up her claims with logic and testimonials
  • Message #3: she will offer them a discount or something else that creates urgency

Ninja Tip: You don’t own social media. That’s why having an email list is so valuable. If your account gets shut down tomorrow, you still have your list of people to fall back on.
